Privacy Policy
Your story is not inventory.
Founders Unfiltered is a publishing, community, and gathering practice. We collect only what we need to run the website, review Club applications, host small rooms, and send the correspondence people asked for.

Who we are
Founders Unfiltered is operated by Urenna Ohaya in connection with the book, Club, events, and website at foundersunfiltered.org. For privacy questions, write from the contact form or email hello@foundersunfiltered.org.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Identity and contact details — name, email, company, location, and the source of a signup.
- Club applications — the answers you submit about your work, stage, and what you are carrying. These are treated as confidential founder notes, not marketing copy.
- Event interest and RSVPs — attendance details, capacity-related notes, and optional dietary or accessibility information you choose to share.
- Newsletter preferences — subscription status, unsubscribe records, and signed preference links.
- Contact messages — the topic and body of a note sent through this website.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device, referrer, and the pages requested. A first-party visitor cookie keeps those pageviews together as one anonymous session so we can see how the site is used and keep it secure.
We do not require payment card details on this website. Book purchases are completed with the retailer you choose, such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, or Bookshop.org, under that retailer’s privacy terms.
How we use it
- To review Club applications and communicate a next step.
- To confirm RSVPs, manage headcount, and send event reminders or follow-up notes.
- To deliver transactional emails you trigger, such as application or RSVP confirmations.
- To send The Unfiltered Letter and related announcements only when you have opted in.
- To answer contact-form messages and keep an internal record of that conversation.
- To understand which public pages are used, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share what is said in a Club room or private application with attendees, advertisers, or investors.
Confidential rooms
Club gatherings and Founders Unfiltered events are designed as confidential conversations. What you share in an application, RSVP note, or room is used to host that experience. It is not recorded for public use, attributed without permission, or treated as a lead list.
Where it is stored
Contact records, form submissions, RSVPs, newsletter history, and first-party visit records are stored in the Founders Unfiltered website manager used by authorized operators of this site. Email is delivered through our email provider. If a Google Sheet or similar operations tool is connected, form submissions may also be copied there for internal tracking.
Uploaded images or videos used in public updates are stored with the website so they can be published. Do not upload other people’s private information in those materials.
Cookies and analytics
The public site is not built around advertising cookies, and we do not use this data to sell ads or build an off-site profile. The website stores a first-party visitor cookie so pageviews can be grouped as one anonymous session: path, time, IP address, device, and referring site. If you later submit a form, that session can be linked to the email you provided. The website manager also uses a session cookie so authorized users can remain signed in.
Retention
We keep CRM, attendance, and visit records for as long as they are needed to operate the Club, events, and website, or as required by law. You may ask us to correct or delete a record, subject to records we must keep for security, dispute, or legal reasons. Unsubscribing from The Unfiltered Letter stops editorial mail; it does not automatically erase an RSVP, Club application, or visit history.
Your choices
- Use the unsubscribe link in editorial email to leave The Unfiltered Letter.
- Ask us to update or delete contact information via the contact form.
- Decline optional newsletter boxes on event or Club forms.
If you are in a jurisdiction with additional privacy rights, including access, correction, deletion, or portability, send the request to hello@foundersunfiltered.org. We will need enough information to confirm the request relates to you.
Children
Founders Unfiltered is intended for adults carrying founder or operator responsibility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and revise the date above. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes notice of the revised policy.
